Footage from a sudden hailstorm in Palmerston North, Manawatū, New Zealand on 11 September 2017 at around 3:30 pm in the afternoon. Hailstorms are not uncommon in the Manawatū, but this was particularly heavy for the area. This video was taken from the suburb of Hokowhitu. The hail diameter was probably around 5mm, based on observation with the eye.
